Heavily Armored Pokey

The Idea:

   One of my favorite games of all time is Earthbound (or Mother 2 for the purists) so I decided to make something from it.

   This is Pokey (or Porky if properly translated), riding in his heavily armed war machine. I loved the idea of making this so a while ago I took a shot at it and failed miserably.

Now I have a bit more experience and I'm back to try again.

The Tools:

- Super Sculpey (1 lb. box)

- Copper wire (I think its 20 gauge)
- Copper Wireform mesh (not shown)

- Pliers

- Aluminum foil

- Exacto knife

- Wooden clay tools (among other things)

- 12"x 12"x ¼" Glass plate (my work surface)

- My hands

The Progress:

Armature made from wire mesh and copper wire, bulked out with aluminum foil. The 

dome is half of a plastic DIY christmas 

ornament.

After a base coat of Sculpey and a quick run through my toaster oven.

The details are starting to take shape. The legs are done and the dome fits on snugly. I just wish I hadn't scratch the dome while sanding it.

Obligatory first post

Well I'm new to this but I'll give it a go anyway. My interests seems to jump around so lets see if this thing lasts more than a week.

I haven't been working recently so I've been find ways to keep myself occupied. The most enjoyable way I have to do this is to attempt to be creative. So, I've been drawing, which I've been doing for several years now but I've more recently started to play around with varrious kinds of clay products.

Just the other day I picked up some Super Sculpey. Now I've had original Scupley for a while now and I was fairy happy with the results but when I started to use the Super Sculpey it was incredible. For the last 3 days I've been thinking of nothing but what I can make with this stuff.

Thats where this place comes in. I'm going to be posting anything I make on here. Thats pretty much it. I don't really know how these things work since I've never used or really ever visited one before. So, lets see what happens.
